Leading the way in sustainability.

GREEN AWARDS

Minthis gains two more Eco-Labels: Green Key and Green Club

Minthis proudly continues to lead the way for sustainability in Cyprus by successfully fulfilling the extensive criteria of the Green Key and Green Club Eco-Labels.

GREEN KEY

The Green Key award is the leading standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry. This prestigious eco-label represents a commitment by businesses that their premises adhere to the strict criteria set by the Foundation for Environmental Education.

A Green Key stands as a promise to guests, that by opting to choose a Green Key establishment, they are helping to make a difference on an environmental level. The high environmental standards expected of these establishments are maintained through rigorous documentation and frequent audits. Green Key is eligible for hotels, hostels, small accommodations, campsites, holiday parks, conference centres, restaurants and attractions.

GREEN CLUB

The Green Club award is a local award based on the strict Green Key criteria enhanced by additional sustainability criteria related specifically to golf courses. The award aims to increase the use of sustainable practices, in respect to land and water usage, biodiversity, the protection of wild plant and animal species.

This award is a recognition of the multi-level efforts made for ensuring the sustainable operation of the Golf Club in the areas of golf course management, energy consumption, water consumption, waste management, the use of environmentally friendly products, food and beverage management, the involvement of staff, guests, suppliers and other stakeholders, and environmental education.
