HISTORY

Legend says that in the 12th century a large wooden cross was discovered, concealed in a cluster of mint bushes on this tranquil hilltop. It was considered a sign and a monastery was built on the spot: Stavros Tis Minthis. Centuries later, when Cypriot developer Elias Eliades first visited this hillside, he was captivated by the history, the natural beauty and the breathtaking views of this unique and fabled place. With a deep knowledge of the area’s culture and heritage as well as desire to preserve and regenerate the natural landscape, he and Pafilia have helped Minthis evolve into the desirable community that it is today. A trained lawyer and formerly Cyprus’ Minister of Defence as well as the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Eliades’ vision of Cyprus as somewhere that can offer a new way of life has shaped Pafilia into the largest privately owned residential developer in the country. Demetris Ashiotis brings indispensable financial expertise to his role as executive director of Pafilia Group. Since his first job as a chartered accountant at PwC, he has established a reputation as a leader in his field, taking on the role of financial director for several companies across a selection of key industries. In 2000, he founded his own accounting and auditing firm, which specialises in tax planning and fiduciary services and he now also serves on the board of both the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Cyprus Association of Developers. His in-depth financial experience coupled with his expert knowledge of the real estate market makes Demetris a true authority on investments and citizenship acquisition.

Executive Director, Evangelia Eliadou leads Pafilia’s sales and marketing endeavours and, as a key member of the Governing Council, helps drive the development of the company’s strategic objectives and global growth. A qualified lawyer, Evangelia’s international outlook comes from studying Commercial and Corporate Law at London’s prestigious Kings College University as well as completing the Bar Association at The College of Law for England and Wales. The daughter of Mr Eliades, Pafilia’s founder, Evangelia proudly joined the family business in 2001 and has been integral to helping the company evolve into the world-class developer that it is today.
