There is a particular stillness in the vineyards early in the morning. The light is softer, the air carries the first signs of autumn and the vines are heavy with fruit, ready to be gathered.

It was in this setting that Minthis homeowners and guests came together for the annual Xynisteri grape harvest—an experience shaped by the land, the season and the simple pleasure of sharing a Cypriot tradition.

With baskets in hand, they walked between the rows of vines and carefully picked the ripe grapes themselves. Conversations flowed as the baskets slowly filled, bringing people together through an experience that has been part of life in the Cypriot countryside for generations.

For some, the harvest brought back memories of family traditions. For others, it was a first opportunity to experience the rhythm of the vineyard and understand the care behind every bottle of wine. At Minthis, where the landscape is part of everyday life, the morning offered a moment to slow down and connect with the place they have chosen to call home.

From the vines to the family table

Together, they harvested approximately 1,500 kilograms of Xynisteri grapes.

At the end of the morning, they took some of the freshly picked grapes home to enjoy with their families, sharing the fruit of their own harvest with those closest to them.

The remaining grapes will continue their journey through Minthis’ ongoing collaboration with Tsangarides Winery. They are expected to produce approximately 800 bottles of Minthis Xynisteri, capturing the freshness of Cyprus’ indigenous white grape variety and the character of the landscape in which it was grown.

Once bottled, Minthis Xynisteri will be available at the resort, giving guests the opportunity to discover a wine grown, harvested and produced through Minthis’ enduring connection with the land.

A tradition rooted in place

Set within the wine-producing region of Paphos, Minthis has always been closely connected to the land. Its vineyards, organic gardens, orchards and beehives are not simply part of the scenery. As the last baskets were carried from the vineyard, what remained was more than the promise of a new vintage. It was the memory of a morning shared in nature and a tradition experienced together, in the place where this year’s Minthis Xynisteri began.
